Residence fire on near east side, second fire at home since December

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 14, 2014) – A double residence on the city’s near east side experienced a major fire for the second time since December.

Crews were called to the 240 block of S Randolph St around 4:09 a.m.

There were downed power lines behind the house and the floor in the rear of the house collapsed due to heavy fire.

The damage is estimated at $70,000.

The vacant house was unoccupied and was under construction.

Arson investigators are at the scene.
