Three arrested on Whitewater River after beating victim with canoe paddle

BROOKVILLE, Ind. (August 17, 2014) — Three New Castle men are behind bars after police say they beat a man with a canoe paddle and held his head underwater during a robbery.

It all happened on Whitewater River near Brookville Friday afternoon. Police say when they arrived on scene they found the victim, 21-year-old Logan Binnion of Spencerville, Ohio, suffering from head and facial injuries. Binnion was transported to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. His condition is unknown.

The suspects have been identified as Kyle Eaton, 28, Daniel Weston Jr., 22, and Robert Vaughn, 26. Charges against them include aggravated robbery and aggravated battery. They were transported to Franklin County Jail.
