NOBLESVILLE, In  (August 24th, 2014) —There has been another water rescue at Potters Bridge in Noblesville.

Noblesville firefighters and Hamilton County sheriff’s Deputies units were dispatched at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say Sherry Fleener, from Sheridan, was clinging to a downed tree in the White River. Fleener says the current pushed her kayak into a down tree in the river, causing it to overturn and go underwater. That’s when she was separated from her kayak.

Fleener was not wearing a life jacket.

Fire units attempted to throw floating ropes and other flotation device to her, but she was too far away from shore.  Noblesville Fire Department Lieutenant Jim Trietsch, wearing a personal floatation device, got into the water and reached her.

Both were able to hang onto the kayak and make it shore.

A mom and her two children were rescued from the same area Saturday.
