INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 27, 2014) – Joe Hogsett could be a step closer to formally declaring his intention to run for mayor of Indianapolis.

The former U.S. attorney will open a campaign office Tuesday at 445 N. Pennsylvania St. While Hogsett has formed an exploratory committee, he has not officially entered the race.

The office will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for an open house where volunteers can learn how to support the campaign. Thomas Cook, a spokesman for Hogsett, said the office will provide a place for volunteers and the exploratory committee.

Two other Democrats, State Rep. Ed Delaney and Washington Township Trustee Frank Short, have already entered the race. Republican Mayor Greg Ballard has not announced yet if he’ll run for a third term.
