CINCINNATI – It wasn’t going to be pretty to start considering that the Colts’ starters would be spectators for most if not all of the team’s final preseason game.

But the Bengals made it a little harder to watch.

Cincinnati’s backups dominated Indianapolis’ on Thursday night in both team’s fourth and final preseason game of the season, winning 35-7 at Paul Brown Stadium.

For what it’s worth, the Colts finished the preseason 0-4 as they now look ahead to their season opener on Sunday, September 7th against the Broncos in Denver.

The most significant moment in the game wasn’t even  a play but rather an injury to offensive lineman Joe Reitz, who left the game with a high ankle sprain. His recovery time is unknown.

Chandler Harnish took every snap at quarterback for Indianapolis but could only put together one scoring drive and that didn’t come till the fourth quarter when he hit Da’Rick Rogers for a seven-yard touchdown. Harnish finished 13-of-24 for 102 yards with that touchdown along with an interception by Danieal Manning which was returned for a 50-yard score in the third quarter.

Jason Campbell opened the scoring late in the first half with a one-yard touchdown to Ryan Hewitt which made it 7-0 at the half.  Dane Sanzenbacher doubled the Bengals lead in the third quarter with a 77-yard punt return touchdown and Manning’s interception return 12 seconds later upped that lead to 21.

The Bengals got on the board again on a 50-yard touchdown catch by Cobi Hamilton early in the fourth quarter before Harnish was able to get the Colts into the endzone. James Wilder Jr. finished the scoring for Cincinnati for on a two-yard touchdown run.
