Three people shot on city’s far east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 3, 2014) – Three people were shot on the city’s far east side Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. in the 2100 block of Fairhaven Drive near the intersection of E 21st St and North Mitthoeffer Road.

When police arrived they found three people shot – one female and two males.

According to witnesses, there were five people sitting on the front porch of a house when a young black male walked around from the backside of the house and opened fire on the five people.

The female was shot in the leg and the males were shot in the foot.

The female and one male were transported to Eskenazi Hospital.

The other male was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

None of the victims had life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, around the same time, a patient showed up at Methodist with a gunshot wound.

Police are not sure at this time whether this incident is related.
