It’s the perfect time to wash your car today with a couple of rain free days ahead.  It looks like the next chance for rain will be late on Wednesday into Thursday morning with big rain totals possible as a shortwave slides through the state.  The big weather story going into today though are these cooler temperatures.

A big cool-down:

Metro Vision Tonight

Today is just the 6th time this summer where we have seen temperatures falling below 55°.  Lafayette temperatures fell below 50 this morning.  The cool weather will start to lift tomorrow but for today highs will be in just the mid-70s.

Winds today will be out of the northeast at around 5 – 10 mph.  The skies will be clear and the humidity levels relatively low.  Sunrise is at 7:19 with the sun setting at 8:07.

Mid-week warm-up and storms:

We begin to see a return of moisture and heat as we head into Tuesday.  Tuesday and Wednesday highs will both be in the mid-80s with strong storms possible on Wednesday night.  At this point my main concern is with large rain totals.  Strong wind gust will also be possible.
