INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 8, 2014)– Robert Mathis will miss the remainder of the football season after tearing his Achilles last week while working out in Atlanta, according to ProFootballTalk.

Mathis was dealing with a four-game suspension after he failed a drug test. Fertility drugs the linebacker was taking to help he and his wife have a child were said to be the cause of the test failure. The NFL heard Mathis’ case but refused to overturn the suspension. He had three games left on this suspension after Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos.

ProFootballTalk reports that because the injury happened away from the team facility, the Colts could place Mathis on the non-football injury list and withhold this year’s money.
