INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 10, 2014)-- The pastor of a church on the west side of Indianapolis would like to help detectives close a murder mystery.

Dr. Jerry Hillenburg is the senior pastor at Hope Baptist Church. It is across from Ben Davis High School. On August 31, authorities believe Dominique Allen, 15, was abducted outside her sister’s home on the west side. IMPD detectives believe Allen was strangled and then part of her body was set on fire outside a home along the 1100 block of Elder Ave.

It has been 10 days since Allen was murdered. Detectives have reviewed hundreds of tips, but no one has been arrested for the crime. Dr. Hillenburg wants to help.

“Whoever did this needs to face the justice of the law. Whoever did this needs to turn themselves in. Whoever did this heinous act needs to surrender to law enforcement,” Hillenburg said.

Hillenburg wants the person responsible to do the right thing. He said if the suspect goes to him, he will help them peacefully surrender to IMPD.

“I’ll be more than happy to do that –just to get this crime over with and to get the fear out of this community about this situation,” Hillenburg said.

If anyone has information about this crime, they should contact IMPD. They can also give them information by calling them anonymously. They can do that by calling 262-TIPS.

Allen’s funeral will be held at Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 20 at noon.
