Apartment fire displaces two families on near southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 14, 2014 — Two families may need a new place to live after a fire ripped through an apartment building early Sunday morning.

Firefighters battled flames in the 1500 block of Renton Street just after 4 a.m., and they were able to get it under control in about 90 minutes. But two of the building’s four units couldn’t be saved.

No one was injured. The fire is under investigation.
