Deputy facing DUI charges after Muncie crash

MUNCIE, Ind. (Sept. 14, 2014) — A Delaware County sheriff’s deputy is facing charges after police say he caused a four-car crash Saturday in Muncie.

Investigator Todd Daily is facing several preliminary charges related to drinking and driving.

Police say he was off duty when the crash happened at State Road 32 and Country Club Road around 3 p.m. He was not driving his squad car.

Daily was taken to the hospital. He will be formally arrested after he has been treated for his injuries.

Two other people were also taken to the hospital after the crash. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Daily’s preliminary charges include: four counts of DUI endangerment, operating a vehicle with a BAC above .15, and recklessness of a motor vehicle.
