Man fatally shot on near west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 14, 2014) — A man was killed in a hail of bullets early Sunday morning on Indianapolis’ northwest side.

Police got reports of multiple gunshots around 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Warman Avenue, near 10th Street and Tibbs Avenue. They arrived to find the man lying on the sidewalk, shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they had little to go on immediately, but investigators were going door to door in the neighborhood, trying to find witnesses and piece together what may have led to the shooting.

The victim has not been identified, but police say he is 44 years old.
