INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 24, 2014)– Firefighters battled a house fire on the south side of Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started before 3 p.m. in the 4400 block of Madison Ave.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police confirm that two officers assisted firefighters in helping a person escape the fire. The two officers were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Four people were inside the house at the time, although six live at the home. The four people inside the home evacuated and were treated for smoke inhalation and released at the scene.
The fire is now marked as under control.
