Brownsburg Trucking fire

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 26, 2014) – A fire destroyed a family-owned Brownsburg trucking company.

A sheriff’s deputy was driving by T.J. Lefter Trucking Company at about 12:05 a.m. Friday on U.S. 136 when he saw flames coming from the roof.

Brownsburg Fire arrived on scene and called for assistance from Washington Township/Avon Fire, Wayne Township Fire, Pittsboro Fire, Danville Fire, and Speedway Fire.

Due to size of building, crews needed more water pressure.

The water company was contacted and asked to boost pressure to the nearest hydrants.

Crews are currently using three hydrants and are still trying to get the fire under control.

The owner of the business states that there are no hazardous materials, and no one was inside the business.

It’s a family-owned business, and they’ve been at this location for 25 years.

U.S. 136 was closed for about five hours due to the fire.
