Man killed after being shot multiple times on Indianapolis’ near southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 1, 2014) – A man was shot and killed on the city’s near southeast side Wednesday morning.

Officers first responded to a report of shots fired in the 1300 block of E. Minnesota Street around 4 a.m. Wednesday but didn't find anything.

A call came in around 4:30 a.m. of a person shot and that's when officers found the man dead on the sidewalk.

Neighbors say they heard several shots, at least six, and ran outside and found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives can't yet say if the victim lives on the street or who he is. They will release the name once identification is made and family is notified.

Detectives are canvassing the area for information, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is processing the crime scene. Detectives have not yet released, publicly, a suspect or a suspect vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).
