Water main break in Lawrence prompts 48-hour boil water advisory

LAWRENCE, Ind. (Oct. 3, 2014)— The City of Lawrence has issued a 48-hour boil water order following a water main break Friday afternoon.

According to Lawrence Utilities officials, a contractor working near 59th Street and Lee Road tore out a large water main break, causing customers to lose water pressure.

A 48-hour boil water order has been issued for any water used for cooking or drinking.

The affected area is Kitley Avenue on the west, 63rd Street on the north, Sunnyside Road on the east and 42nd Street on the south.

Approximately 9,000 customers are impacted.
