(October 23, 2014) – A 4-year-old battling leukemia celebrated Halloween early.

Ethan Van Leuven was diagnosed with cancer when he was just 22-months-old.

After years of treatment, his family learned last week that his fight is coming to an end.

Since his time is running out, the Van Leuven family wanted their last days with Ethan to be filled with joy. And what better way than a week of holidays?!

According to Fox45, on Wednesday night Ethan and his family celebrated Halloween.

“I’m Superman!” said Ethan “Up up and away!”

Ethan’s neighbors all got in on the act and moved their trick-or-treating up a week early.

With the help of his five siblings, superman got to go trick-or-treating/

And it was obvious his neighbors were ready to stand by Superman’s side.

Fox45 reports that today the Van Leuven family will celebrate Ethan’s fifth birthday (a month early); on Friday, there will be a big neighborhood Christmas Eve celebration; and Saturday, the family will celebrate Christmas, Ethan’s favorite holiday.
