Gary man allegedly shot 13-year-old boy nine times for laughing at him

GARY, Ind. (Oct. 28, 2014)– Police say a man in northern Indiana murdered a 13-year-old boy for laughing at him.

According to WGV TV, Khanji Fairley, 30, has been charged with murder in the death of Kobe Jones, 13.

After returning to his home in the 1000 block of Polk St. Friday night, Fairley reportedly discovered his house had been burglarized.

Neighbors walked over when they heard Fairley repeatedly yelling outside about the burglary.

According to police, Jones laughed at Fairley. Police say fairley then shot the teen nine times, killing him.

Jones’ father lives in Indianapolis, and drove to Gary as soon as he heard about the death of his son.
