Water main break on city’s south side shuts down intersection

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 28, 2014) – A water main break on the city’s south side shut down a major intersection Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the intersection of Hanna Avenue and Meridian Street around 3 a.m.

When they arrived, they found water gushing from a leak; the intersection was completely flooded.

Citizens Energy was called to the scene and they shut off the water supply.

Crews are currently working to repair the break now.

Eastbound traffic on Hanna Avenue will be restricted during this time.
