SUNNY BUT COOL
Happy Friday! What a difference sunshine and the lack of wind will have. The afternoon high of 46° was still well below normal but gone are wind gusts (yesterday) of 30 to 40 mph. Normal high this time of the year is 57°.
SATURDAY SYSTEM – SMALL RAIN CHANCE
The next system in a series of systems (3 total) arrives Saturday with winds and more clouds. Sprinkles could develop early Saturday before a cold front passes around noon in the city. The temperature rises to near 50° Saturday but warming will be offset by stronger winds gusting to 25 mph.
STORMY START TO WEEK WITH COLD BLAST
The 3rd and strongest system in the series will arrive early next week. An autumn storm for us but it will turn into early season winter storm for many in the Midwest. Snow accumulation looks likely across portions of Iowa, Wisconsin, northern Illinois and Michigan.
Early season cold arrives behind the storm starting later Tuesday afternoon when temperatures start falling. The coldest air to date this fall is on the way – with temps running nearly 20° below normal from next Wednesday on.
