INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 9, 2014) — Firefighters battled flames at a double residence on the near northwest side early Sunday morning.

The home in the 1300 block of Congress Avenue began burning right around 3 a.m., with the fire starting in the rear of the structure. Firefighters had to wait for Indianapolis Power and Light to cut power to the residence because of lines close to the back of the house.

The house was vacant and no one was injured. Firefighters are investigating a cause.
