We are tracking a big dip in temperatures as we head into next weekend but the next couple of days should be fairly pleasant.  Monday highs should be near 60 with partly cloudy skies and breezy winds blowing in from the southwest.  Highs today hit 51 degrees with morning lows falling to 29.  Overnight tonight will see temperatures remaining well over the freeze mark with forecast lows in Indianapolis near 40 degrees.  Some communities may see their morning lows fall to the mid-30s.

Monday and Veteran’s DayMetro Vision Tonight

The weather should be nice for Monday with a small chance for rain around on Tuesday.  Like we said above expect breezy but warmer conditions on Monday with highs hitting the low 60s.  Monday will be the warmest day of the next 7 days.  The average high for this time of the year is 55 degrees so highs should top that.

Tuesday will remain mild with highs in the upper 50s.  Rain chances arrive around Noon with some light sprinkles and showers around.  You may want to grab the umbrella if heading downtown for the Veteran’s Day Parade, even though we don’t expect much more than a light and brief rain for the day.  Changes will be arriving Tuesday afternoon as cold air begins to push in from the Northwest.  Tuesday highs will be reached before 2 with falling temperatures for the rest of the day.

Rest of the week:

Temperatures will continue to dip as we head into the middle of the week with Wednesday highs only managing to hit the mid-40s.  It appears Thursday will be the coldest day since last April 15th with a high only hitting the mid-30s.  April 15th was the last time we have failed to hit 40 degrees here in Indianapolis.

Friday looks to be just as cold as Thursday with a little more sunshine.  The cold will stick around and be reinforced next weekend with Saturday highs only hitting the mid to low 40s and Sunday highs returning to the 30s.  A cold front will sneak in late Saturday and model data shows the potential for a few flurries.  The cold weather will stick around for the start of next week too with Monday temperatures remaining cold.
