Two killed in head-on collision in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (November 10, 2014) – A head-on collision killed two people in Johnson County Monday evening.

The accident occurred around 5:55 p.m. on State Road 135, just north of County Road 300 South in Trafalgar.

When officers arrived, they discovered that a head-on collision involving three vehicles. Two pickup trucks collided after a southbound pickup “glanced off” an SUV heading northbound.

The drivers of both pickup trucks were killed. A male passenger in one of the trucks survived and was flown by helicopter to IU  Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

According to police, it appears that the truck going south on State Road 135 went over the center line. His truck struck the northbound pickup occupied by a female (driver) and a male (passenger).

The Johnson County Coroner’s office is in the process of notifying family members of both drivers.
