INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 14 , 2014) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police investigated a reported robbery Friday at IUPUI.

Police now say the robbery was a false report.

According to an alert sent from the school Friday morning, a person was reportedly robbed at 535 Barnhill Dr. around 6:40 a.m. The alert said the man was pushed to the ground and his wallet was stolen. No weapon was seen.

After investigating the report, IMPD said surveillance video showed the robbery never actually happened.

A similar incident was reported late Wednesday night in a parking lot at 1200 Indiana Ave. after a student was knocked to the ground before his wallet was stolen, the alert said.

It’s the second crime alert issued by the school this week. On Tuesday, the school said a man tried to take a woman’s purse in the Barnhill Garage during the afternoon.
