Police arrest DUI suspect after body found ‘halfway through windshield’

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Nov. 14, 2014) – It didn’t take long to find the car after getting a report of an erratic driver—a body was halfway through the windshield.

Police in Ocean Township, N.J., spotted the vehicle after seeing what looked like a man lying on the hood of the car traveling along Main Street Monday night, reports WPIX.

The driver had hit the other man after veering onto the shoulder of the road. He then continued driving for more than a mile before a patrolman stopped him, police said.

Police arrested the driver, Marcos A. Ortega, 33, Little Egg Harbor, after he failed sobriety tests. He faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash and causing serious bodily injury to a person while driving under the influence.

The victim, Kenneth Moeller, 61, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
