One dead, one critical after Plainfield crash

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (November 19, 2014) – One person was killed and another criticially injured after a single-vehicle crash in Plainfield Tuesday night.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the entrance of the Westmere housing addition near the intersection of E County Rd 200 S and Smith Rd.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a four-door passenger vehicle had crashed into a stop sign and the concrete entrance sign for the Westmere subdivision.

There were two men inside the vehicle.

The driver, Francisco Farfan, 25, was airlifted in critical condition to a local hospital. The passenger, identified as Kevin Borrayo, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the car, a Nissan Altima, was going west when it lost control. It hit several trees and a stop sign before hitting the concrete entrance sign.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
