Man seriously hurt after being hit while pushing car along U.S. 36 in Danville

DANVILLE (Nov. 19, 2014) – A serious crash shut down U.S. 36 in Danville Wednesday morning.

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed. Dispatchers said a pedestrian was struck and multiple vehicles were involved.

According to Lt. Jim Yetter from the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department, witnesses said a man was pushing his car when a second vehicle pulled up to help. A third car crashed into them, seriously injuring the man who was pushing the car.

The man was initially taken to the emergency room before being airlifted to another hospital.

Dispatchers said the road reopened just before 8 a.m.
