‘Warm up’ ends with fresh jab of arctic air tonight, coldest November in 38 years

WE CRACKED THE FREEZING MARK

The warm up has ended.  Miss it?  You may have never felt it with strong winds offsetting the warm up, the wind chill is only in the teens to lowers 20s.  We reached 37° today – 18° warmer than yesterday but still well below the normal of 51° .

A new cold front is passing this evening dropping us well into the teens Thursday morning. Bundle up again early Thursday. Winds will not back off, the wind chill drops to near zero late tonight.

COLD WAVE CONTINUES

Wednesday is the 8th straight day below normal – and this stretch has brought a precipitous drop to the average temperature for the month.  To date, November 2014 is the coldest November in 38 years.  The average temperature of 36.5° ranks 3rd all-time behind (2) 1976 and (1) 1951.
