RAYMORE, Mo. (Nov. 24, 2014) – Roll out the parade for Ella Joe Johnston.

The 5-year-old Missouri girl has been battling leukemia for the past several months. Over the weekend, the community welcomed her back home with a parade, reports WDAF.

“We never thought in a million years anything like this, Raymore is just an amazing community,” Pete Schultz, Ella’s father, told the TV station.

Saturday’s parade included a fire truck, the Belton Police Department and a dance team.

Ella’s family says she spent 112 days in the hospital fighting leukemia and a blood infection as well as severe bouts of strep throat and pneumonia.

“She’s a tough little girl,” her father said. “We’re just blown away at how strong she is.”
