Person shot and killed on west side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 25, 2014)– A person was shot in the chest on the city’s west side Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the 5900 block of Fieldcrest Lane just around 6:40 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

As officers made their way to the scene, they received an additional 911 call of a person down near a building located in the 800 block of Hardin Boulevard.

Police say a man was shot in the parking lot of Cloverleaf Apartments. The male was transported to Eskenazi Hospital by EMS personnel in critical condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Police are still searching for a suspect. No description has been released.
