INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 12, 2014) – A drunk driver in a van hit a semi Tuesday morning – taking off the entire passenger side of the van.

The accident happened around 1:50 a.m. on EB I-70 at MM 91 near the North Post Road exit.

The semi was pulled over on the right side of the road due to vehicle problems when a drunk driver clipped the side.

The man in the van drove five miles before pulling over and stopping.

Police located the driver and he failed field sobriety tests. He is now in police custody.

No one was injured in this accident.

I-70 eastbound was closed for an hour following the accident so crews could clean up debris.
