INDIANAPOLIS – For mid-December, it’s a close to a March feel as basketball fans were going to get.
The No. 1 team in Class 4A would face off with the No. 4 squad in a Friday night game that might be reserved for March Madness. Providing this excitement were top-ranked Carmel and North Central-who met on a chilly December night in what will be a critical game in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference.
But it was the Panthers who brought the big effort in the second half, breaking a 31-all tie at the break to beat the Greyhounds 66-59 Friday night in Nora.
It hands Scott Heady’s Greyhounds their first loss of the season while North Central improves to 4-3.
