2 people arrested after shooting in Marion; police seek third suspect
MARION (Dec. 17, 2014) – A shooting that injured a man in Marion was the result of a drug deal that turned into an attempted robbery, police say.
The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital Tuesday after being shot through the hand and in the chest in the 1600 block of South Gallatin Street. His injuries weren’t life threatening.
Investigators from the Marion Police Department said the man arranged a meeting to buy drugs and was then shot during an attempted robbery.
Police arrested Artez L. Drake, 21, Dalvon T. Vinson, 21, in connection with the shooting. Both were preliminarily charged with attempted robbery and serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.
A third suspect is still being sought, police said.
