WANTED: Police seek man who allegedly shot girlfriend in back during altercation

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 7, 2015)– The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is looking for a man in connection with the shooting of his girlfriend.

Akeem Gunn, 28, is wanted on charges of aggravated battery, armed robbery and kidnapping.

Police said Gunn shot his 29-year-old girlfriend during an argument in the 3300 block of Broadway Avenue on Sept. 26, 2014. Witnesses in the area were able to help police name a suspect.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital. She survived the incident.
Gunn is described to be about 6-feet-1-inches tall and 170 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police said Gunn also has warrants for robbery, carjacking and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon out of Beech Grove.
