One dead, two others shot on city’s near northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 8, 2014) – Police are investigating what officers described as a shootout that left three people shot and one dead on the city’s near northeast side Thursday morning.

IMPD received a call from a man who said he was shot in the hip around 5 a.m.  That man brought himself to IU Health Methodist Hospital, where police said he was listed in stable condition.  That man refused to identify himself.

Police were then called out to 32nd and Sherman,  where officers told FOX59 News that a man showed up at his aunt’s house with a gunshot wound to his arm.  That man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

About a half hour after that run, police responded to the scene of a person shot near 32nd and Guilford. Police found a back door ajar, went inside to investigate That man was declared dead at the scene.

Police believe all three shooting victims were shot at the 32nd and Guilford scene, tentatively described as a multi-family home or halfway house.  Investigators also do not believe this was a random incident and they continue to look into whether other people were involved.
