INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 14, 2015) – A broken hydrant caused problems Wednesday morning for crews battling multiple semi fires on the city’s near south side.

IFD was called to the scene of a semi fire just before 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bluff Rd and W Troy Ave.

When crews arrived they discovered two fully engulfed semis parked at a storage facility.

IFD had trouble battling the flames because the nearest hydrant was broken.

Additionally, one firefighter was injured after slipping on the ice.

Arson investigators are at the scene, but at this point there is no indication that the fire is suspicious.
