Manhunt underway in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY (Jan. 16, 2015) – Police in northeastern Monroe County were looking for a wanted man Friday.

Tyler Verhines was wanted on warrants in a previous case, according to Indiana State Police. Verhines is about 5’8”, 161 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. ISP troopers clocked him going 89 mph in a 55-mph zone, state police said. He led them on a pursuit, stopped, ditched his car and then ran off.

A police K-9 was trying to track him, police said.

Police released photos of Verhines and his car. Anyone who sees him should call 911.
