Indianapolis police officer arrested on domestic battery charge

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 26, 2015)—An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was arrested early Monday morning on preliminary charges of domestic battery and battery with injury.

Officer Johnathan Burger, who has been with the department for seven years, is currently on administrative leave pending an internal review.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 7400 block of Camby Road, where they found Officer Burger involved in a disturbance. Details surrounding the incident are unclear at this time.

Detectives will review the findings of this case with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a final charging decision.
