MUNCIE, Ind. (Jan. 26, 2015)– A Muncie man faces charges after police say that he struck both his girlfriend and their 1-year-old son.

Jared Davis, 18, was arrested Friday after city police were called to his home on a report of a domestic disturbance.

Court documents show that Davis’ girlfriend, also the child’s mother, said Davis struck the toddler in the head and the child fell into a cabinet, causing the child to have a bloody nose.

She told police that Davis then punched her in the face, which caused her to fall and hit her head on the floor. Police reported that the mother and child had visible injuries.

Davis was arrested on charges of domestic battery with a child present and battery on a child under the age of 14.
