INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 30, 2015)– Maybe it was deflated fan interest following the Colts’ 45-7 playoff pummeling by the New England Patriots.

Or maybe it wasn’t.

The Colts Pro Shop, a longtime staple in Circle Centre mall in Downtown Indianapolis, closed its doors this week, according to our partners at the IndyStar.

Les Morris, a spokesman for mall operator Simon Property Group, confirmed the closing.

A Colts spokesman didn’t reply to a request for comment.

The now-shuttered shop called itself an “official Indianapolis Colts store.” It sold a wide range of Colts merchandise, including those $100-plus player jerseys popular on the torsos of game-day fans, $14 Colts mugs and a Colts helmet-in-a-display-case for $150.

The shop was located in the middle of the mall in a high-traffic area near escalators and a skyway to a mall parking garage on Illinois Street.

The shop faced plenty of retail competitors. Colts-branded merchandise is widely sold, even by grocery stores.
