Shots fired at a hotel during child’s birthday party

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 8, 2015) — Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating a shooting that happened just before midnight Sunday morning.

The shooting happened at a birthday party inside a hotel on the city’s East side.

Shots were fired at the Holiday Inn Express near 21st Street and Shadeland Avenue.

Police responded to the hotel for shots fired inside a room on the fifth floor.

Police say they cleared other hotel rooms around the room where the gunfire rang out.

When they entered that room, they found no one, but did learn someone fired a gun during a child’s birthday party inside.

Bullet holes and fragments were found in another room nearby.

There were no injuries reported.
