BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Feb. 9, 2015)– The Bloomington Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a CVS Store located at 1000 N. Walnut Street. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. Monday morning.

The suspect is described as a man, 6’0″ tall, wearing a black toboggan hat, a dark leather jacket, dark sunglasses, and black pants. He was armed with a dark-colored handgun.

Police say the suspect may have physical disabilities evident in his walking and with how he was manipulating his hands. According to store employees, he may have feigned being mentally challenged upon entering the store.

The suspect entered the store and asked an employee for assistance in selecting notebooks and a binder. When they went to another part of the store to get other items, the suspect displayed a handgun that was concealed inside a binder.

The suspect demanded money from the cash registers and fled on food in a southwest direction after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.

During the interaction with the store employee, the suspect stated that he was from Atlanta, had been fired from a CVS store previously, had a child with Multiple Sclerosis, and that he was going to “come in and start shooting people.”

No one was injured in the course of the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joe Henry at 812-349-3907 or the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477.
