STOCKTON, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2015) – A California teenager was convinced he found a chicken brain in a recent KFC order—and all he wanted was his money back.
“Just because I do eat there often, so I mean coming across something like that is just like, 'Wow,'” Manuel Cobarubies, a Stockton High School student, told KTXL on Monday.
Corarubies said he’s stopped at the KFC in the past. This stop was different.
“(It looked) like a brain to me. I mean at that point, red flags were kind of raised,” the teen said.
What is a teen to do? Tweet at the restaurant, of course. He sent a tweet to KFC’s Twitter handle, which led to an apology but no refund. He then got in contact with the TV station, resulting in a call from Richard Romas, a KFC area consultant.
Ramos said the “brain” was a kidney or gizzard that ended up in Cobarubies’ order. The teen was given a refund, and Romas said the restaurant will be working with cooks to make sure they prepare the chicken correctly.
