$100,000 in cash, 50 marijuana plants and more seized in north side drug bust

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind (Feb. 11, 2015)– Guns, cash, and drugs were seized from a home Wednesday as officers attempted to arrest an Indianapolis woman.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday , Marion County Sheriff deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant in the 1200 block of East 71st Street for a dealing marijuana.

A man in the residence tried to escape through a window. He was detained and said his father could be inside. While searching for the father, deputies discovered an alleged marijuana grow operation in the basement.

Investigators found 50 marijuana plants, 70 one-pound sealed plastic baggies of processed marijuana, one rifle, three pistols and approximately $100,000 in cash.

Excise police were called to the scene after a suspected alcohol still was discovered.

This is an ongoing investigation.

“The joint investigation between ISP, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police Excise Police has removed a large amount of illegal drugs and a suspected alcohol still off the streets” stated Sgt. Leonard of the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section. “It was a good investigation that utilized cooperation from all departments involved.”
