FISHERS, Ind. (February 11, 2015) - Police in Fishers are searching for a man suspected of attacking a woman while she was jogging through a neighborhood.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Fishers police spokesman Officer Tom Weger said the woman was jogging along Holland Drive in the Sunblest neighborhood when a man standing in a tree line jumped out at her.

"The man approached her, lunged at her, and attempted to grab her around the head and neck," he said.

The woman was able to get away, because her dog started barking at the man and he ran away.

While having a dog is helpful, Weger said police do not want residents to be out alone after dark.

"We really encourage you to take a friend. Always have your friend on ready... you can call 911 immediately then be very aware of your surroundings."

Police have released this suspect description: 25-35 year old white man, 5’10” tall weighing approximately 250 pounds, medium length shaggy hair, wearing a tan jacket and long pants.
