One dead, two injured in accident in Southern Indiana

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (February 15, 2015) — Two people were taken to the hospital and one person died as the result of an accident in Southern Indiana on Sunday.

Indiana State Police Troopers were dispatched to a crash on Interstate 265 in Clark County Sunday afternoon.

When they arrived on scene, officers found an SUV off the south side of the roadway and resting on its side.

The driver and front seat passenger of the vehicle were both ejected in the accident.

An 11-month-old passenger was found still strapped into the back seat of the vehicle.

Police say the SUV drove off the road for an unknown reason and after leaving the roadway it overturned as many as three times before resting on its side.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Austin Porter, 19 of Jeffersonville was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition.

The infant, 11-month-old Lori Porter was taken by ambulance to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville in stable condition.

The front seat passenger, Taylor Johnson, 18, was pronounced dead on the scene.
