NEW KENT COUNTY, Va.(Feb. 16, 2015) — A truck driver is credited with saving a woman who’d been tortured and forced into sex trafficking.

It happened on Jan. 6 near Richmond, Va. According to WTVR, truck driver Kevin Kimmel saw the distraught girl in an RV parked in a truck lot.

“Saw what looked like a young girl looking out the window, the black drapes didn’t make it look like a family’s RV, you know,” Kimmel told WTVR. “I saw a guy come up and knock on the door then go inside the Pilot — then quickly came back and knocked again, all of the sudden the thing was rocking and rolling.”

Authorities searched the RV, where they found a couple from Iowa and a 20-year-old woman described as disheveled and malnourished.

Police arrested Aldair Hodza, 36, and Laura Sorenson, 31, in the case. They face federal sex trafficking charges.

Hodza is accused of torturing the woman by burning her with keys heated over a stove and hammering nails into her feet. Court documents said the victim’s feet had puncture wounds along with burns on her stomach, groin and back.

The woman said she was abducted on Christmas Eve and forced into prostitution. She said the suspects threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
