INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 18, 2015) – The Indianapolis Fire Department put out a fire at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on the city’s near west side Tuesday night.

The call came in just after 11 p.m. in the 3000 block of W 10th St., and crews firefighters saw smoke showing upon arrival.

Crews had the fire under control in 20 minutes, and the damage is estimated at $25,000.

The church serves as a daycare during the day, and it is occupied by a family of seven in the evening. Everyone was safely evacuated.

There were no working smoke detectors in the building.
