CLEVELAND, Ohio (Feb. 25, 2015) — A driver lost control of his SUV—and ended up being thrown from the vehicle as it continued moving down an Ohio road.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the video this week, although the crash happened in January, reports WJW.

The driver lost control in snowy conditions in the westbound lanes of Route 2 on Jan. 12. As the SUV veers toward the guardrail, the man is ejected and lands on the road. A trooper’s dash camera captured the incident.

The stunned driver gets to his feet and stumbles before help arrives. The driver told WJW that he had no memory of the crash and recalled sliding, waking up on the ground and then getting out of the way of oncoming traffic.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the video serves as a reminder for drivers to slow down and buckle up.
