INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March, 7,2015)- Firefighters battled a triple residence fire on the city’s near south side early Saturday morning.

The fire was near the corner of Adler and Talbot St.

The houses were vacant, but the occupied homes nearby were evacuated.  Authorities believe squatters caused the fire. Neighbors say they have seen some coming in and out of the house multiple times.

The two story structures took heavy fire damage to the interior and exterior.

It took the Indianapolis Fire Department nearly an hour to get the fire under control.

The damage was estimated to be around $80,000.
